Acne (mild)
- Small pimples, blackheads, or whiteheads caused by clogged pores
- Common on face, chest, or back
- Often related to hormones, oil production, or bacteria
- Usually not painful or scarring when mild
Allergic rhinitis
- “Hay fever” caused by allergies (pollen, dust, pets)
- Symptoms include sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, itchy eyes
- Not caused by infection (not contagious)
- Often seasonal or triggered by specific exposures
Aphthous ulcers (canker sores)
- Small, painful sores inside the mouth
- White or yellow center with a red border
Candidal stomatitis (oral thrush)
- Fungal infection in the mouth
- White patches on tongue or cheeks that may hurt
- Can cause discomfort when eating or swallowing
Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
- Red, irritated eye(s) with discharge or tearing
- Can be caused by bacteria, viruses, or allergies
- May feel itchy, gritty, or sticky
- Some types are contagious (especially viral/bacterial)
Dermatitis (eczema, allergic, contact)
- Skin inflammation causing redness, itching, or dryness
- May appear as patches, rashes, or cracked skin
Diaper dermatitis
- Skin irritation in the diaper area
- Red, sore, or rash-like skin
- Caused by moisture, friction, or irritation from urine/stool
Dysmenorrhea
- Painful menstrual cramps
- Lower abdominal pain before or during periods
- May include back pain, nausea, or fatigue
- Common and varies in severity
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
- Stomach acid flows back into the esophagus
- Causes heartburn or chest discomfort
- May feel worse after eating or lying down
Hemorrhoids
- Can cause pain, itching, or bleeding
- Often related to straining or constipation
- May be internal or external
Herpes labialis (cold sores)
- Small, painful blisters on or around the lips
- Caused by a virus
- Often triggered by stress or illness
- Contagious
Impetigo
- Superficial bacterial skin infection
- Causes red sores that may ooze
- Contagious through skin contact
Insect bites and urticaria (hives)
- Raised, itchy bumps on the skin
- Caused by insect bites or allergic reactions
- Hives can appear suddenly and move around the body
Tick bites (Lyme disease prevention)
- Bite from a tick attached to the skin
- Some ticks can transmit Lyme disease
- Early removal and treatment can reduce risk
Musculoskeletal sprains and strains
- Injury to muscles, ligaments, or tendons
- Caused by stretching or twisting too much
- Symptoms include pain, swelling, and limited movement
- Common in sports or sudden movements
Nausea and vomiting of pregnancy
- Feeling sick or vomiting during pregnancy
- Common in early pregnancy (“morning sickness”)
- Can happen any time of day
Pinworms and threadworms
- Small worms that infect the intestines
- Cause itching around the anus, especially at night
- Spread easily, especially among children
Urinary tract infections (uncomplicated)
- Infection in the bladder
- Symptoms include burning when urinating, urgency, and frequency
- May cause lower abdominal discomfort
Vulvovaginal candidiasis (yeast infection)
- Fungal infection
- Causes itching and irritation
- Common after antibiotics or hormonal changes
